World Mental Health Day 2024

World Mental Health Day is October 10, and the theme for 2024 is “Mental Health at Work.”

Work is a big part of our lives so it can have a huge impact on our mental health; what’s happening at work can spill over into our personal lives and affect how we’re feeling when we’re at home or socializing.

So it’s important to make sure that while we’re still in our work day we’re doing what we can to make sure we’re staying healthy, not just physically, but also mentally.

There are practical reasons to prioritize workplace mental health as well. According to the World Health Organization, “depression and anxiety alone result in the loss of approximately 12 billion workdays each year.”

We strive to create a supportive environment at Createscape where you can focus on your mental health with a variety of work spaces, fun breaks from the day, and great company. And we’ve recently added The Treehouse, with treadmill desks to walk while you work and a relaxation area with a hammock and bean bags.

But we also know you may need resources beyond Createscape to make sure you’re staying as mentally healthy as possible. We love this guide to dealing with burnout that the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) created for World Mental Health Day this year.

If you need even more help you can connect with the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, text 741741 for the Crisis Text Line, or you can reach Austin / Travis County Integral Care at 512-472-HELP. Always call 911 first in the case of immediate risk of harm to an individual or others.

Let us know if there’s anything Createscape can do to help you on your mental health journey as you work!
