A Collection of Anti-Racism Resources & Action Items

Inspired by the protests over the death of George Floyd

Protests have been raging across the world over the past week over the death of George Floyd, an unarmed black man in Minneapolis. Violence towards black people, and racism in all its forms (systematic, personal, and otherwise) are nothing new in America and killings of unarmed black people have been a devastating trend that has only continued. All these stories require not only our attention but a deeper understanding of systemic racism and implicit bias. The protests, demands, and conversations happening right now on race and privilege are so important to be kept up if we want to bring about real change. Createscape has always been a community of creativity with many different backgrounds. We place enormous value to be open, inclusive, diverse, and protect our coworking community. It is for this reason that we want to encourage education and growth on these issues and even if some of them are uncomfortable.

It is not enough to be quietly not racist. Now is the time to be vocally anti-racist. The following are links to campaigns, articles, petitions, and works of art to become better informed on these issues and start (or continue) making a difference. By no means is this collection of resources complete, but we hope it can be helpful and more than anything we wanted to lift up black voices. Black Live Matter.

"Not everything that is faced can be changed,

but nothing can be changed until it is faced."

James Baldwin
